Trade shows

As our regular customers will know, we decided not to exhibit at either Interiors Birmingham or the Spring Fair this year. Instead we will be improving the usability of our wholesale website and we will be using sales agents to a greater extent with a more structured plan to their activities.

If you would like a visit from an agent to explain how we work and to go through our extensive catalogue please send us an email at sales (at) scarthingwell.co.uk or call on 01937 557877

As many of our customers now know, we are not exhibiting at either Interiors Birmingham 2010 or Spring Fair 2010 at the NEC.

Having seen visitor numbers dwindle over the past few years at these events we decided we would take a look at our marketing strategy for 2010 and try some new ideas.

We will be visiting more of our customers who would like to see us this year and we will be visiting more frequently with new more up to date catalogues.

If you would like a visit from a sales rep please call us on 01937 557877 and we will make an appointment with you.

We will also be holding events at our showrooms at Scarthingwell during the year where you can visit and see our new lines ‘in the flesh’ and finally we will be making some further improvements to our website.

After careful consideration we have decided not to exhibit at the Autumn Fair this year.

We felt in the current economic climate that the considerable expense involved in exhibiting could be spent more effectively elsewhere.

As a result we are offering 5% off all orders placed via our website during and just after the show period.

The offer will run from 2nd September 2009 to 18th September 2009.

Obviously some terms and conditions will apply, click on the link below for full details.

Harrogate 2009

Harrogate home and gift fair will be running from 19th to 22nd July and although we do not exhibit at Harrogate we are only 40 minutes drive from the fair and would welcome any customers, new or old who would like to visit us as part of their buying trip to Harrogate.

We are having a special offer during the show period for anyone who comes to visit us. Full details can be found here -> Harrogate Offer 2009.

cav823 Spring Fair  Tales of economic doom and bad weather pretty much killed the Spring Fair. Footfall was massively down, probably due to severe weather warnings and people being advised not to travel unless absolutely essential.

We suffered as a result, as did most of the other exhibitors we spoke to. Some fared a lot worse than us some a little better. We had many new products to show, a much larger stand with a different layout and still our orders were much lower than last year.

Could this be the end of two separate shows at this time of year? Who knows at least we are still trading and looking to make the most of the orders we have.

New items will be added to the website in the coming weeks and we will be despatching orders as soon as we can. If you placed an order and would like it urgently just give us a ring and we’ll do what we can to get it to you as soon as we can.

The Furniture show, now known as Interiors Birmingham, finished on Wednesday and could be descirbed as far from spectacular. Footfall was down, orders were down and people were being very careful with their spending. We did take orders however and now we need to fulfill those as quickly as we can and look forward to the Spring Fair…

Although we will all be busy and involvecd in the building of the exhibition stand there will always be someone at the warehouse and office to serve cash and carry customers or answer telephone queries.

Hall 3 A02

The build up for Autumn Fair 2008 started on Tuesday and the transformation over the next few days is truly amazing. Starting with an enormous draughty hall at the NEC a world class exhibition will be produced by what seems like a small army of stand builders, painters, electricians and merchandisers over the next 5 days. Ready to open to visitors on Sunday unrecognisable from these pictures.

First we would like to thank all the customers who called in on us when they visited the Harrogate Home and Gift Fair, we were very pleased to see you. Most people seemed to have enjoyed visiting Harrogate although a few commented it was ‘a little quiet’. Obviously we were not exhibiting but we were kept pretty busy with a steady stream of visitors and several people went away with their cars or vans full to the brim whilst others preferred to place an order for delivery.
With the ever rising cost of distribution we are increasingly using pallets instead of our own vans as we are finding this is a more flexible and efficient way of getting goods to you the customer.
